How we met
Shannon is the cousin of Mike and Chris Mruzik. Mike introduced us.

Funny story
Shannon is a nut. He's capable of saying anything at any time, and coming up with the most hair-brained ideas that you can imagine. If a friend of mine comes up with a solution to a world problem that involves death *AND* disfigurement, it's probably Shannon.
Why Shannon and I are friends
Perhaps it's because Shannon grew up in Southeast Missouri, the same way that I did, but Shannon and I seem to share a number of the same values. We're both conservatives - something I share with very few of my friends. Many of those values have a place of importance with me, and as a result, having a person who understands that is a really great thing.
Another thing is that Shannon has always been a person I can count on when I needed help on the spur of the moment. More so than perhaps most other people, I can count on him to help me when I need it - especially with yard or house stuff.
And you can't leave out just how funny Shannon is. Serious topics can be turned funny by Shannon with one of his extreme views that he doesn't *REALLY* believe, although he can say that he does, and that's always a great counterbalance to folks (like me) who can get too wrapped up in a topic.
