How we met

I met Brad at my apartment at Tiger Village for Movie Night I in the late summer or early fall of 1988 (sometime between August 6 (Video Game Day I) and October 31 (Halloween Party)). At the time, Movie Night and Video Game Day were local BBS events, and Brad and I knew each other from various BBSes.

What we do together

Talk about life in general, "watch Babylon 5," play ping-pong, play video games (especially Cyberball), toy with computer games

Funny story

My first impression of Brad was not a positive one - I thought he was another kid drummer who thought too much of himself. He actually turned out to be rather quiet and introspective - I'd almost call him shy at times. The wild thing was that Brad is both outgoing and quiet, and both proud and humble. He left me a message on my answering machine (the first message left on my first answering machine) after we had become closer and he didn't mind talking with me - a message which drew the comment from Jim Struglia, "I think that's the most I've ever heard him say."

Why Brad and I are friends

There are very few times in life when you find someone willing to stand up for what they feel is right. There is no time in life that you will ever find Brad fail to stand up for what he feels is right. Because of our age difference, when Brad was in high school, his father didn't see what Brad and I could possibly have in common. So he forbid Brad to do anything with me. Brad first tried to reason with his father, but when his father wouldn't budge, rather than throw away a friendship, and despite a lot of incentive to throw away the friendship, Brad stuck with me. Now it isn't just this loyalty that I admire about Brad, but it is so rare to find this kind of loyalty that it deserves mention. I also like Brad because he's the kind of person who believes in the good of people. He's positive and upbeat, and probably a bit of an idealist. Brad helped me run Tempest BBS, and was one of those people who'd always want to stand up and be heard. Also, I found out that he actually is a pretty good drummer.

Brad's Family

Brad has a charming wife - Julie (Ward) Morton (May 1, ??), who he married on October 24, 1998.  Brad and Julie have two daughters. Sophia Lane Morton, was born on May 21, 2001.  And she's absolutely adorable.  Brad and Julie's other daughter is Ella Morton.  I'll have the full name and birth date later.
