Why post a page showing that I never
accomplished much? Because even though I only played
one year, only scored two points, I'm proud of what I did.
That's an important attitude to take into any game.
And more importantly, I'm proud of my team - the 1981 JV
Converence Champion Holcomb Hornets.
Career Summary
Played my freshman year of high school
fo rthe 1A Junior Varsity Conference Champion Holcomb
Hornet team. I was the last man on the bench, a
point guard on a team deep at point guard. As a
result, I never played point guard during a game.
I was used as a shooting guard, and even as a forward.
I missed the first half of the year with a torn muscle,
plus a few games due to illness in the second half of
the year. I played more than 5 minutes in a game
only once - in the first round of the Conference
Tournament, where we defeated Southland. We were
the first seed, and they were the eighth seed, and we
had beated them twice before that year (one game I
missed due to injury, the other due to illness).
This game acccounts for most of my stats. My other
shot and personal foul came in our Homecoming game,
which we lost to Gideon, and in which I played 4:04.
My turnover came against Cooter, where I played just
over a minute and a half. My parents did not allow
me to try out for the team the next year (when all the
point guards except for T.J. Howell were gone).
