Steve "Extra-Mile" Miller

It may seem unusual to include a co-worker, but if you've ever worked with Steve Miller, you'd understand why.  Steve is upbeat and positive, sometimes clowning around and sometimes deathly serious.  Seemingly the eternal optimist, Steve simply brightens and lightens things up.

Steve is a relatively conservative guy, whose interests range from judo to biking.  He seems equally comfortable in a suit and in sweats, in a board room or on a basketball court.  Part of the reason is that he doesn't change from one to the other.  He's not the kind of politically motivated businessman that you see, but one who is headed toward the top by good service, hard work, and honorable ethics.  He won't do it by backstabbing a colleague - he's up-front enough to disagree with you to your face.

Steve is also the kind of person who isn't just in it for the money.   He'll point you to other good people that he's aware of who are experts in their fields.  When buying my house, Steve gave me the advice as to which particular agent to go to (John John), plus he gave me his opinions on the house.  Steve is just the kind of guy who goes out of his way for his friends.

Steve is ex-military, and he shows it in his views.  He's not afraid of seemingly anything, and has a bit of a daredevil streak in him in his hobbies.   Expect him to love anything physical, and to play as a sportsman.  Although he's generally playing against me at basketball, he's one of the players I've always wanted on my team, because although he plays to win, he plays so that everyone can have fun.

He's a listening ear, a person who playfully kids around without treading on sensitive areas, and a person who understands honor and professionalism in business dealings.  He's one of a kind.

Steve, thanks for all the fun we've had at Storage Trust.  Although we've never been really close friends, just know I was always glad to know you were there.
